Delivery drivers are often deprived substantial wages and compensation owed. Among other things, delivery drivers are often misclassified as independent contractors (and provided a 1099 rather than W-2 tax form). Not only are these drivers deprived of overtime wages owed, but they often pay out-of-pocket for substantial expenses that should be paid by the employer, such as truck lease fees, gas, uniforms, time between deliveries, and other expenses.
